About Us
Mike has been on Mack Avenue for about 20-plus years! Mike started at Gent’s 2 Barbershop between 1998-1999, once situated at Mack and Nottingham. Unforeseen changes resulted in Mike just “kutt’n” with Will at Da Barbershop on Mack and Somerset (still in existence). His humble beginnings on Mack Avenue morphed into him having his own with a generational following. Sons that were introduced to Mike’s ways of shaping first cuts later had families of their own and continues the tradition of “Go to Mike first!” Women and children do not have to worry about stereotypical barbershop behavior at Jus Us Kutt’n because Mike understands the importance of maintaining a professional ambiance. Such understanding has led to his invaluable experiences in watching families evolve and grow — in the name of haircuts. He’s been “kutt’n” inside of his own shop for about five years! Jus Us Kutt’n is a family-friendly, community-based, neighborhood-based barbershop.
Mike appreciates Mack Avenue because of traffic, easy access to the shop, instant security, and the geographical history of Mack. He mentioned that the response and attraction to his shop is different than that of any other, mentioning barbershops located on a main street. When Mike says he’s on Mack Avenue near Alter Road, people know exactly where he’s located. Many of his customers are native to the community in which he lives and invests.
